Counselling and Clinical Psychological Therapy
For children, adolescents and adults
About Tania
I have 20 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults with a range of presentations including Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Grief, Self-Esteem, Family Separation and Parenting Support. I have completed several training programs in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP) and will be involved in this emerging mental health treatment.
I tailor my treatment for each client's unique situation drawing from a variety of evidence-based approaches incorporating Psychodynamic and attachment theories, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Play therapy, mindfulness, brain-based therapy and somatic therapy in a fun and engaging way.
How psychological therapy can help
Psychological therapy provides children, adolescents and adults with an opportunity to seek assistance with a mental health condition and/or a personal, relationship, school or work issue. Psychological therapy helps by providing a confidential, supportive and non-judgmental environment in which to explore thoughts and feelings about a particular issue or work on a particular mental health condition.
Psychological therapy with children usually involves play therapy which provides age appropriate ways for children to express themselves. Parental involvement in counselling for children is encouraged.
Psychological therapy for adolescents usually involves more traditional talk therapy though games may be used to develop the therapeutic relationship. Parental involvement is welcome though there is a greater degree of independence as the age of the adolescent increases.
Psychological therapy for adults may focus on a particular issue or situation that may be causing distress. All psychological therapy will involve age appropriate assessment and evidence-based treatment.
